If stress in the workplace starts interfering too much with your work performance, health, or personal life, it’s time to start acting on it. - Offer A Range Of Wellness Activities: Providing 20 minutes break every two hours results in employee well-being. Exercise and relaxation techniques help lower stress response in the body. Holding stress management workshops for employees, building a friendly network of people who can support the organization’s well-being and practicing mindfulness activities within the organization helps reduce stress.
- Cultivate A Friendly Social Climate: Provide opportunities for social interaction among employees. Establish a zero-tolerance policy for harassment. Create management actions consistent with organizational value.
- Give Out Rewards & Appraisals: Give employees something meaningful and a timely feedback about their performances. Recognize employees for their work performances/accomplishments. Give appraisals to ensure objectives set are realistic and employee’s expectations are being controlled. Provide opportunities for career development.
Stress is specific to each individual. That person is important while managing stressful situations. It doesn’t matter how stressful your life is, or what do you do for a living, there are plenty of things that you can do to reduce your stress and regain control at work.
