Maintaining Your Health

Whenever a change happens, it affects the organization as a whole. No matter your job, you must learn to adapt to change. Taking charge of the current change in the workplace makes you foresee and plan for new experiences. It is way more powerful and proactive than allowing everything to affect your work life and outcome.

The goal to focus on the changing situation is to reduce the distraction levels that the organization experiences while it passes through the current to the desired state.

While the change may take up the entire transition period, it is important for us to look out for ourselves. Try maintaining a schedule. The loss of a routine is one of the most difficult things about a job layoff. Try ticking off the most important things first.

Try paying attention when your body tells you to shut down, maybe it is trying to tell you to become less stressful. The stress of going through the transition period for change can easily turn into headaches if the body’s needs are ignored. One major sign of stress is noticing that our minds are filled with a ruckus of thoughts, demands and worries making it clearly very hard to focus and think clearly.

Take a few minutes each day to relax and think clearly about the important things. This is helpful especially when you are feeling scattered, or overwhelmed, having difficulty prioritizing, or feeling stuck by too many demands simultaneously.

Transiting through a change in the workplace takes time to get adjusted to everything around. It’s important to look out for your own self, especially in terms of health. Look out for the stress signals and other important signals your body is trying to give out. Be alert in understanding your requirements rather than ignoring them. Exercise, take a break every 20 minutes to feel fresh.
